Artist Priyanshu Chaurasia

Today, Eco Aware Art Gallery will introduce PRIYANSHU CHAURASIA, an effective artist from Varanasi, as an Eco Warrior. Why are we introducing her as an Earthling rather than a citizen of any country, and why is she our "Eco Warrior"?

This is a really fascinating concept! We learned from her that she not only uses zero waste in her art, but she is also a very sustainable person in her daily life. She stated that it took her a long time to figure out how to go zero waste in her professional and personal life, and that it is tough but not impossible.

She also stated that we humans worship an unseen god while killing the visible god, our mother earth. Even though the planet provides us with oxygen, water, and everything else we need to live, we are destroying it.

Before

She stated that she was currently working on paper pulp casting because paper has so many possibilities, and that she was using waste and recycled paper in her work. She also stated that it was her life's resolution to not use new materials for her artwork, and that if she did use canvas, she would use old or recycled canvas

                                                                                    After

While speaking with her, she demonstrates that she has recently decreased her home's plastic usage by 90%. She is an inspiration to many people, she added, adding that after receiving her MFA from Jamia Milia Islamia, she practised printing at the Lalit Kala Akademi Garhi studio. But, over time, she realised that this approach is harmful not only to the environment, but also to the artist's health, so she abandoned it and is now working on paper pulp casting.

Before

She also stated that she is working on a way to produce canvas work with natural colours instead of acrylic in the future. She claimed that only artists have the vision that their thoughts and visions may transform the world. When we claimed you were our Indian eco-warrior, we meant it. She stated that an Eco Warrior should not be limited by nation or religion, and that she belongs to the earth, and that environmental preservation is her religion.

After

Her ideas are very inspiring, and we realise that we, too, can learn a lot from artists like Priyanshu. PRIYANSHU CHAURASIA, a lovely person and artist, is honoured by ECO AWARE ART GALLERY. She has been an artist for ten years. She earned a B.F.A. from Banaras Hindu University and a double M.F.A. from Jamia Milia Islamia University in New Delhi and Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidhyalaya in Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh, both with gold medals. For her artistic expression, she selected the medium of printing.

She mastered a variety of printing techniques. However, she believes that the entire medium is very poisonous and harmful to both the environment and individuals. As a result, she began to create an entirely eco-friendly media. She discovered that paper pulp is an easy-to-work-with media that does not hurt the environment. All of the hues are earth tones, and the papers pulp used in this media is derived from recycled papers. This is why she picked paper pulp as her medium of choice for artistic expression.

She has received the following honours: 2020-Winning an award at the Art Society of India's 102nd Annual Art Exhibition in Mumbai. 2018-Winning the Founder's Choice Special Prize in the "Miss India Artist of the Year" national level women's art competition. 2013 – B.H.U. Varanasi hosts its third annual art exhibition of printmaking. B.H.U. Lalit Kala Akademi Scholarship 2018-2019 New Delhi, 2012-second year annual art exhibition of printmaking.
